Meet Our Veterinary Team

Dr. Nick Koten earned his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University before pursuing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, graduating in 2014. After discovering his passion for private practice, he fulfilled his dream of owning a veterinary hospital by purchasing what is now Lindale Pet Hospital.

As the owner and lead veterinarian, Dr. Koten is committed to providing exceptional, compassionate care to every patient. He is passionate about continuing education, staying current with advances in veterinary medicine, and fostering a team that shares his dedication, energy, and commitment to outstanding client service.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Koten enjoys spending time on his ranch, trail riding with family and friends, and cheering on his three children as they pursue their many activities and accomplishments.

Joni Koten serves as the Practice Manager at Lindale Pet Hospital, where she combines her lifelong passion for animals with years of hands-on leadership and agricultural experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in 2010 and has been actively involved in the livestock industry through 4-H and FFA for many years. Growing up raising, training, and exhibiting animals laid the foundation for her commitment to animal care and client service.

Joni works alongside her husband, Dr. Nick Koten, to create a welcoming, family-oriented practice focused on providing exceptional care for both pets and their owners. Together they have three children, Landon, Addison, and Logan, who share their family’s love for agriculture, sports, and showing animals through 4-H and FFA.

Outside of the clinic, Joni enjoys spending time with her family camping, trail riding, boating, reenacting, swimming, and making the most of the outdoors with friends and loved ones.
